Local Processing First

API Mock Injector does not collect, store, transmit, or monetize any personal or network data. All mock rules, URL patterns, payload intercept configurations, and network overrides execute entirely on your device inside your Chrome browser engine.

1. Data Collection & Processing

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) or browser activity telemetry. Specifically:

  • Network Request Data: While the extension intercepts network calls (using Chrome's webRequest / declarativeNetRequest APIs) to apply mock rules, this data is processed in-memory locally and is never sent to remote servers or analytics providers.
  • Rule Configurations: Your custom mock configurations, HTTP headers, delay settings, and JSON response bodies are saved locally in your browser's chrome.storage.local area.
  • Analytics & Tracking: We do not use third-party tracking scripts, cookies, or telemetry tools.

2. Permissions Requested & Purpose

To perform its core functions, API Mock Injector requests specific permissions upon installation:

declarativeNetRequest / webRequest

Required to intercept, delay, and inject status codes or modified response bodies into HTTP/HTTPS network requests configured by the user.

storage

Used strictly to persist your mock profiles and custom JSON responses locally between browser sessions.

activeTab

Allows the extension toolbar popup to display and toggle active mock rules for the tab currently open in your browser.

3. Third-Party Services & Disclosure

API Mock Injector does not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not integrate with advertising networks, third-party analytics platforms, or external data brokers.

4. Data Storage & Deletion

Since all extension data resides within your browser's local storage:

  • You can clear saved mock rules at any time directly through the extension's settings panel.
  • Uninstalling the extension from Chrome instantly deletes all saved rule configs and local data stored by the extension.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in browser extension requirements or user feedback. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
